I am an artist and business person. I just retired from running the biggest independent art supply store in Northern Nevada - Nevada Fine Arts - if you are ever in Reno, you should check it out, it is a great store.

As an artist, I work in photography, video, I draw (graphite & pen & Ink), I Paint (watercolor, gauche, & oil), I do printmaking and jewelry. I also have been fortunate enough to have shown my work in museums and art galleries. I have sold art in many of the mediums I work in. I have owned two art galleries, taught art, given talks about art and have an extensive knowledge of art supplies.

If you know me, you know that I am always doing something. My current collaborative project is a YouTube Channel called ‘We Talk Art’ - YouTube.com/@WeTalkArt.

At ‘We Talk Art’ , we are creating a channel for artists that offers insights, advice, and relevant information to support them on their artistic journey. We cover techniques, art materials, and industry knowledge through talks, interviews, demos, and inspiring videos.

We aim to demystify art, helping creatives enhance their skills and grow artistically by addressing less discussed topics with experts in many art related fields including working artists, museum directors, authors, teachers, curators & buyers who generously share their knowledge.

We explore the art-making process, materials, techniques, and methods to refine your craft and discover new tools. We collaborate with insiders, representatives, and manufacturers in the art materials industry to bring you the latest updates and reviews of materials and techniques.

My wife, Debbie Wolff, is also an artist. We still live in Reno, Nevada, where we create our art, participant in the local art scene, enjoy the outdoors and use it as a base to travel from. Both of us are heavily influenced by the natural beauty of this area and get inspiration from the places we travel to.

I have never done great at focusing on one thing, and that shows in my art. I regularly move from one medium to another finding that what I learn and create in one medium informs another. The focus on light in photography, influences how I paint, which inspires my drawings, and that effects my design aesthetic when working in jewelry.

As a generalist and having working in so many areas, I have never built a huge portfolio in any one medium or discipline. Although this has probably prevented me from building a huge following, I am ok with it since I enjoy the act of making art and I enjoy the exploration of doing new and different things. Who knows, maybe next year I will be working in sculpture.
